English for Pre-Intermediate Learners Micro-credential

This micro-credential aims to enhance pre-intermediate English skills, emphasizing listening, speaking, reading, and writing. It aligns with the B1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
The micro-credential equips learners with a deeper understanding of the English language, delving into topics such as family history, health and fitness, emotions, and more. Utilising a published coursebook and other materials, learners will explore various linguistic structures, including the present perfect tense, comparatives, superlatives, and passive voice. They will be guided to effectively engage in conversations on familiar topics, read factual texts and listen to factual recordings, and write simple, connected texts.
The micro-credential is structured into weekly units of learning, each focusing on the four core language competencies: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. This weekly format allows for a balanced and comprehensive approach to language acquisition, ensuring that learners gain a well-rounded skill set. The course is designed to progressively build upon previously learned skills. Starting with foundational tasks like discerning the present perfect tense, the course gradually moves towards activities like discussing family history or health and fitness. This ensures a logical progression that aligns with the Pre-Intermediate B1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
